UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS
====================

1. Ensure that active applications (e.g. event based or continuous
    video transmission from the AXIS Video Server) are disabled prior
    to initiating the upgrade.

2. Be sure to take a careful note of your application/layout and other
    settings, prior to upgrading, since these settings will be
    lost during the upgrade.

3. You must be at the command prompt and in the directory that
    contains the upgrade file.
    Example: C:\Axis\2401p\3_12>

4. From the command prompt, open an FTP connection to the unit you
    wish to upgrade. (Do not use Windows-based FTP-programs for this
    purpose - use only command line FTP programs!)

5. Log in as root. The default password for the root user is "pass",
    unless this has been changed by the user. You must be logged in
    as the root user to upgrade the unit.

6. Change to binary transfer mode by typing "bin" and press enter.

7. Type "hash" and press enter. (This will allow you to see how the
    upgrade progresses)

8. Type the command "put XXX.bin flash" where XXX.bin is the name
    of the upgrade file you downloaded (and maybe decompressed) from
    our site. This file is typically named 2401p_312.bin or axis2401p.bin.

9. Wait for the flash load to complete which may take 1-10 minutes.

10. After the upgrade has completed, the unit will automatically restart
    and show a steady green on the Power and Status LED:s and flashing
    green on the Network LED.

11. Reconfigure your settings.

RELEASE 3.12
============

New in 3.12:
============

3.12:1 Added support for Dennard Type 2050 Dome. Please note that an
        RS232 to RS485 converter (e.g. B&B Electronics Model 485PTBR)
        is necessary to have for connecting this dome to the AXIS 2401+.
        For connection schemes see the Dennard PTZ device web page at:

        http://www.axis.com/techsup/cam_servers/ptz/index.htm

3.12:2 Added support for the following PTZ devices:
        * Daiwa DMP23-h2
        * Sony EVI-D70
        * JVC dome TK-C676

3.12:3 The JPEG header has been changed to match the one delivered by
        other Axis products.

3.12:4 Third party software licenses text added to the product's web
        interface.

3.12:5 A warning message is now displayed when the maximum number of
        preset positions (20) is reached.

Corrections in 3.12:
====================

3.12:6 When the AXIS 2401+ was set to use the G721 audio standard used
        in earlier releases (G723 is the new default) and multipart HTTP
        message mode, there was no audio to or from the audio module.
        This problem is now corrected.

3.12:7 Several issues when using AXIS 2191 audio module have been
        corrected. Occasionally the sound stopped after a while, or it
	was corrupted.

3.12:8 The buffers no longer stop recording images when the time is
        changed backwards.

3.12:9 Removed modulation setting from the wizard

3.12:10 Image uploads to the FTP server's root ('/' path) are now handled
        correctly.

3.12:11 Image uploads when using an empty FTP path are now handled
        correctly. I.e., the images sent to the FTP server will be
        uploaded to the user's home directory.

3.12:12 Added the snapshot button previously missing in the web interface
