---------------------------------------------------------------------

Upgrade instructions:

Important:

1. Ensure that active applications (e.g. event-based or continuous
video transmission from the AXIS Video Server) are disabled prior
    to initiating the upgrade.

2. You must be at the command prompt and in the directory that
    contains the upgrade file.
    Example: C:\Axis\250s\3_10>

3. From the command prompt, open an FTP connection to the unit
you wish to upgrade. (Do not use Windows-based FTP-programs for
this purpose - use only command line FTP programs!)

4. Log in as root. The default password for the root user is "pass",
unless this has been changed by the user. You must be logged in as
the root user to upgrade the unit.

5. Change to binary transfer mode by typing "bin" and press enter.

6. Type "hash" and press enter. (This will allow you to see how the
    upgrade progresses)

7. Type the command "put XXX.bin flash" where XXX.bin is the name
of the upgrade file you downloaded (and maybe decompressed) from our
site. This file is typically named 250s_310.bin or axis250s.bin.

8. Wait for the flash load to finish, which may take 1-10 minutes.
Always wait at least 10 minutes for the flash upgrade to complete.

9. Your unit will automatically restart using the new firmware.

New in 3.10:
=============

3.10:1 Multicast (RTP/UDP) - One video stream according to ISO/IEC 13818-2
and if so configured, one audio stream according to ISO/IEC 13818-3
are deliverd using RTP according to RFC3550 with payload format
        according to RFC2250.

This functionality saves bandwidth by allowing several clients to use
	the same MPEG-2 stream.

Note: MPEG2 licenses are supplied for three users only. To accomodate
further users, additional licenses must be purchased.

3.10:2 New image resolutions implemented - 2CIF (expanded to 4CIF size in
	Live view) and QCIF.

3.10:3 Still images can be downloaded from the Live view page.

3.10:4 The date and time is sent with the MPEG-2 stream and is shown at the top
	of the image.

3.10:5 Configurable GOP-structure. IBBP (default), IBP and IP.

3.10:6 When configuring Video and Audio, the total bandwidth required is shown
	in the web interface.

3.10:7 New ActiveX, AXIS Media Control. Requires DirectX9 for 3.10:4 to work.
DirectX9 can be installed using Windows Update.

3.10:8 The PC software AXIS Media Control can be configured from Windows
Control Panel. For example, deinterlacing can be turned on/off.

3.10:9 PTZ control by click in picture implemented.

3.10:10 Removed PTZ drivers: Canon VC-C3
Added PTZ drivers: Philips CSI Autodome G3A, Sensormatic SpeedDome Ultra III
        Updated driver: Panasonic WV-CS850A

3.10:11 Introduction of the ability to edit embedded files with http://<ip>/admin-bin/editcgi.cgi,
(as in all other AXIS Video and Camera products.)

3.10:12	The default IP address is now 192.168.0.90.

Corrections in 3.10 since 3.03:
===============================

3.10:13 Improved latency (the time between when the image is taken and when
it is sent on the network).

3.10:14 Created users can be deleted without corrupting other user rights.

3.10:15 User accounts can be up to 14 characters long. The previous limitation
	was 11 characters.

3.10:16 Use of Input and Output terminal signals was inverted. This
	problem is now corrected.

3.10:17 Mail notification can be sent to several e-mail addresses.

3.10:18 Sorting log messages into critical and warning files now works.

Application developer news in 3.10:

        Now "closed circuit" = 1 = / and "open circuit" = 0 = \
