Consult the Cisco Unified CallManager Locale Installer documentation for installation instructions as referenced in the "Related Documentation" section. 2.2 All required firmware for all SIP and SCCP Cisco Unified IP Phone models with localisation support are bundled with Cisco Unified CallManager 5.0.4 installation with the following exceptions: 2.2.1 CSCsd77798 Firmware version 8.0(2) for the following devices is required to ensure Extension Mobility functions correctly with locales that use an encoding other than ISO-8859-1: Cisco Unified IP Phone 7905 Cisco Unified IP Phone 7912 2.2.2 Firmware version 8.0(4)SR1 for the following devices is required to ensure tone files containing additional tone definitions load on the devices without falling-back to United States tones: Cisco Unified IP Phone 7906 Cisco Unified IP Phone 7911 Cisco Unified IP Phone 7940 Cisco Unified IP Phone 7941 Cisco Unified IP Phone 7960 Cisco Unified IP Phone 7961 Cisco Unified IP Phone 7970 Cisco Unified IP Phone 7971 2.2.3 Cisco Unified IP Communicator 2.0.2 is required to support the locales listed in the Localised Components section below. 2.2.4 Cisco Unified Wireless IP Phone 7920 requires one of the following to be installed on the platform: cmterm-7920-sccp.3-0.cop Cisco Wireless IP Phone 7920 firmware installer for CM 5.0 3.0 03-APR-2006 1134142 http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/ip-7900ser-crypto cmterm_7920.4.0-03-00.bin Cisco Wireless IP Phone 7920 firmware only file http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/ip-7900ser-crypto 3 IMPORTANT NOTES 3.1 5.0.4.1-2 includes a workaround for a race condition discovered when CSCsf18571 was resolved. If customers have installed Cisco Unified CallManager Locale Installer 5.0.4.1-1 they must install 5.0.4.1-2 in order to ensure that subscribers synchronise with the publisher when using the Disaster Recovery System to backup/restore Cisco Unified CallManager. 3.2 Cisco Unified CallManager Locale Installer MUST be installed on every Cisco Unified CallManager server in a cluster, starting with the Publisher. After installation has completed, it is essential to reboot the platform in order for all user and network locale changes to become fully activated. 3.3 CSCsb56021 Migration of Cisco Unified CallManager 5.0 Locales 3.3.1 Problem Description Early deployment Cisco Unified CallManager Locale Installer 5.0(1.2) and Cisco Unified CallManager Locale Installer 5.0(2.1) builds do not migrate locales during an upgrade to Cisco Unified CallManager 5.0(4) or greater. 3.3.2 Background This is a known deficiency that has been notified in the following published ReadMe files with each released version: cm-locale-5.0.1-phase1-Readme.txt cm-locale-5.0.2-phase1-Readme.txt cm-locale-5.0.2.1-2-Readme.txt 3.3.3 Problem Symptom The Cisco Unified CallManager Operating System Administration Options Installer currently places installed options (COP files) in a directory that is volatile during an L2 migration (Linux to Linux upgrade). All installed COP files are removed from the current location during the L2 migration process, which includes Cisco Unified CallManager Locale Installer COP files. If, during an L2 migration, the Cisco Unified CallManager Locale Installer migration process does not detect any installed COP files in the configured path it will not reinstall any locale data, localised files or supporting files. As a consequence end users, applications and devices that are configured to use a locale other than English (United States) may not function fully if they do not fall-back to the default locale. The following Cisco Unified CallManager Locale Installer COP files will not be migrated when Cisco Unified CallManager is upgraded: cm-locale-ja_JP-5.0.2.1-2.cop cm-locale-de_DE-5.0.2.1-1.cop cm-locale-en_GB-5.0.2.1-1.cop cm-locale-fr_FR-5.0.2.1-1.cop cm-locale-ko_KR-5.0.2.1-1.cop cm-locale-nl_NL-5.0.2.1-1.cop cm-locale-zh_CN-5.0.2.1-1.cop cm-locale-zh_TW-5.0.2.1-1.cop cm-locale-combined_network-5.0.2.1-1.cop cm-locale-combined_network-5.0.2.1-2.cop cm-locale-de_DE-5.0.1.2-1.cop cm-locale-en_GB-5.0.1.2-1.cop cm-locale-fr_FR-5.0.1.2-1.cop cm-locale-ko_KR-5.0.1.2-1.cop cm-locale-nl_NL-5.0.1.2-1.cop cm-locale-zh_CN-5.0.1.2-1.cop cm-locale-zh_TW-5.0.1.2-1.cop cm-locale-combined_network-5.0.1.2-1.cop 3.3.4 Workaround/Solution If upgrading Cisco Unified CallManager 5.0(1) to Cisco Unified CallManager 5.0(4) or greater, and one or more locales other than the default English (United States) are installed it is essential to install Cisco Unified CallManager Locale Installer 5.0.1.3-1, replacing ALL non-default locales, PRIOR to upgrading each Cisco Unified CallManager server. If upgrading Cisco Unified CallManager 5.0(2) to Cisco Unified CallManager 5.0(4) or greater, and one or more locales other than the default English (United States) are installed it is essential to install Cisco Unified CallManager Locale Installer 5.0.4.1-2, replacing ALL non-default locales, PRIOR to upgrading each Cisco Unified CallManager server. WARNING: Failure to replace all non-default locales will result in the absence of locales after upgrading Cisco Unified CallManager. 3.4 CSCeg59833 CORPORATE DIRECTORY SEARCH It is recommended that entering User names into the Corporate Directory follows this format: ... This allows Unicode devices to display Unicode user names and non-Unicode devices to display the alternative ASCII user names. 3.5 No Keyboard Alphanumeric Text Entry Support for Asian Locales There is currently no localised Keyboard AlphaNumeric Text Entry (KATE) support for Asian locales. The default English (United States) KATE will be presented to the user instead. 3.6 No TAPS Support Customers who wish to use TAPS on CRS 4.5 must download and install Cisco Unified CallManager Locale Installer 4.1 or 4.2 directly into their CRS server. Cisco Unified CallManager Locale Installer 5.0.4.1-2 will not install TAPS on the Cisco Unified CallManager 5.0.4 server. 3.7 Cisco Unified IP Phone 7970 and Cisco Unified IP Phone 7971 do not provide complete i-button help support. In some sub-menus "XML Error [4]" will be presented or English may be shown when it is not possible to parse large localised content. Applies to the following locales: Catalan (Spain) Croatian (Croatia) Czech (Czech Republic) Danish (Denmark) German (Germany) Finnish (Finland) French (France) Greek (Greece) Hungarian (Hungary) Italian (Italy) Norwegian (Norway) Portuguese (Brazil) Slovak (Slovakia) Slovenian (Slovenia) 3.8 The Quality Reporting Tool (QRT) does not allow submission of findings when used with an IP phone loaded with Serbian (Serbia and Montenegro), except the Cisco Unified IP Phone 7905. 3.9 Cisco is aware that Serbia and Montenegro became two independent countries in 2006 and is currently awaiting ratification of new locale codes from the International Standards Organisation before creating two separate user and network locales. 4 LOCALISED COMPONENTS Table 4.1 Cisco Unified CallManager Components Localised in this Release ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Component Name ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cisco Unified CallManager Administration Cisco Unified CallManager User Options Cisco Unified CallManager Attendant Cisco IP Manager Assistant Cisco WebDialer Annunciators (user and network) Personal Address Book CDR Analysis and Routing (for manager and user) JTAPI (included in CallManager build) TSP (included in CallManager build) -------------------------------------[END]------------------------------------- Table 4.2 Cisco Unified IP Phone Components Localised in this Release ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Component Name ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Barge and Privacy Call Back Call Forward Call Park Call PickUp Call Select Call Waiting Conference List (except Bulgarian (Bulgaria)) Direct Transfer Immediate Divert Join MCID (Malicious Caller ID) QRT (Quality Reporting Tool) Extension Mobility Speed Dial Abbreviated Dial Personal Directory Corporate Directory Help Services (i-button help) -------------------------------------[END]------------------------------------- Table 4.3 Cisco Unified IP Phone Localised in this Release ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Phone Model Protocol ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cisco Unified IP Phone 7905/7912 SCCP Cisco Unified IP Phone 7906/7911 SCCP and SIP Cisco Unified Wireless IP Phone 7920* SCCP Cisco Unified IP Phone 7940/7960 SCCP Cisco Unified IP Phone 7941/7961 SCCP and SIP Cisco Unified IP Phone 7970/7971 SCCP and SIP Cisco Unified IP Communicator** SCCP and SIP -------------------------------------[END]------------------------------------- * Cisco Unified Wireless IP Phone 7920 supports the following user locales only: Danish (Denmark) Dutch (Netherlands) English (United Kingdom) Finnish (Finland) French (France) German (Germany) Italian (Italy) Japanese (Japan) Norwegian (Norway) Russian (Russian Federation) Spanish (Spain) Swedish (Sweden) ** Cisco Unified IP Communicator supports the following user locales only: Danish (Denmark) Dutch (Netherlands) French (France) German (Germany) Italian (Italy) Japanese (Japan) Portuguese (Brazil) Russian (Russian Federation) Spanish (Spain) Swedish (Sweden) 5 RESOLVED AND KNOWN ISSUES Table 5.1 Resolved Issues ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bug ID Description ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CSCsb56021 Migration of Cisco Unified CallManager 5.0 Locales CSCsd77798 7905: Japanese characters are shown as ?s in EM screens CSCsf18571 Installing locale on subscribers breaks DRF backup CSCsf01522 Cisco Unified IP Phone displays Chinese font that is too small and hard to read CSCsf18571 Installing locale on subscribers breaks DRF backup CSCsf28996  JPN: 7905: Char id 91BC is missing in Japanese 7905-font.xml CSCsf29003 JPN: Personal and Corporate Directory displays corrupted on TNP devices -------------------------------------[END]------------------------------------- Table 5.2 Known Issues ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bug ID Description ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CSCsb68890 RUS: CCMAdmin: User pages display some words in English CSCsd16952 RUS: Attendant Console -
