Prerequisites ------------- This Update MUST be applied on an "ANM 1.2" or "ANM1.2 with Patch C" installation only. Backup of existing package -------------------------- This procedure is not mandatory. If the users elect to backup the ANM1.2 or ANM1.2 with Patch C system, before installing the patch, the following are the steps: Backup Procedure ---------------------------- As root, run: /opt/CSCOanm/bin/anm-tool backup ./anm-backup The result of running the above is a file called anm-backup.tar.gz in the current working directory. The ANM1.2 or ANM1.2 with Patch C backed up data, can be restored on an ANM1.2, ANM1.2 Patch C or ANM1.2 with Update E system. note: ----- Please be warned that if you make a backup on an ANM1.2 Update E system, you may not be able to restore the backed up data on a Patch C or earlier system. An Update E backup, can be restored on a Update E or later system only. Installing the Package ---------------------- 1. Copy the anm1.2-update-E.bin to an ANM 1.2 installation machine. 2. Apply the Update by issuing the following command as root: bash anm1.2-update-E.bin Note that it may take one or two minutes for the ANM to automatically restart. The file should contain a line that reads: build.version.patch=E This indicates that the Update E is installed. Also, after ANM 1.2 is up, login on the top right corner of the browser, click on "About" link and check the pop up window for the ANM version. It should read: Version: 1.2 (0), Update: E Note: ---------- Please note that the previous versions of ANM1.2 udpates were called Patch A, Patch B and Patch C. All Patches are cumulative and Update E contains the above listed fixes in addition to the fixes already encompassed in previously released patches. The terms Patch and Update are used synonymously in ANM1.2 releases.
