Item

Description

Router #

Indicates the virtual router number. The ONS 15454 SDH provides three virtual routers numbered 1 through 3.

System ID

Indicates the NSAP System ID of the virtual router. The NSAP system identifier is set to the node's first IEEE 802.3 MAC address + n, where n = 0 through 2 for the ONS 15454 SDH. For the primary router, Router 1, n = 0.

Status

Indicates the virtual router status, either Enabled or Disabled. Router 1 must be enabled before additional routers can be enabled.

Primary MAA

Provides the primary manual area address (MAA). For Router 1, this is the main NET for the node, that is the NSAP without the System ID and Selector (set to 00) fields.

Additional MAAs

Displays the addresses of any additional manual areas that are created. An OSI area allows up to two additional manual areas in addition to the primary manual area.

Edit

Displays the Edit Router dialog box where you can enable routers, edit the primary manual area address, and add additional manual areas.

Help
