Description

Admin State

The Admin State is the provisioning that tells the node to bring up or disable the link. Choosing an administrative state from the drop-down list and clicking Apply changes the TE link's operational state unless network conditions prevent the change. Admin states include:

  • unlocked-Changing the state to unlocked means that the node will try to establish the TE link and negotiate channel parameters to bring up the link.

  • locked,disabled-Removes the TE link from service and disables the link.

Local TE Link Id

Displays the local TE link identifier assigned by the node.

Remote Node Id

Enter the IP address of the remote node.

Remote TE Link Id

Enter an unsigned 32 bit value. CTC accepts decimal or hexadecimal notation. The value entered in this field must match the TE Link Id assigned for this TE Link on the remote system.

MUX Capability

Indicates the type of switching that should be performed on a particular link. The MUX capability field is needed for links that advertise more than one type of switching. The options available are:

  • Packet Switch - Level 1, 2, 3, & 4: Packet-Switch Capable (PSC) switching recognizes packet or cell boundaries and can forward data based on the content of the packet or cell header.

  • Layer 2 Switch: Layer 2 Switch (L2SC) forwards traffic based on MAC layer addresses.

  • TDM Cross-Connect: Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) forwards data based on the data's time slot in a repeating cycle.

  • Lambda Switch: Lambda Switch Capable (LSC) forwards data based on the wavelength on which the data is received.

  • Fiber Switch: Fiber-Switch Capable (FSC) forwards data based on a position of the data in a real-world physical space.

Apply

Applies changes made to the LMP fields.

Reset

Cancels LMP subtab changes and returns the fields to their last-saved settings.
