FC_MR-4
The FC_MR-4 is a 1.0625- or 2.125-Gbps Fibre Channel/Fiber Connectivity (FICON) card that integrates non-SDH framed protocols into an SDH time-division multiplexing (TDM) platform through virtually concatenated (VCAT) payloads.
The ONS 15454 SDH FC_MR-4 line card enables four client Fibre Channel ports to be transported over SDH or SONET. The Fibre Channel frames are encapsulated using the ITU-T generic framing protocol (GFP) format and mapped into either T1X1-G.707-based VCAT payloads or standard concatenated SDH/SONET payloads. Gigabit Interface Converters (GBICs) can be installed on the FC_MR-4 card to transport non-SONET framed, block-coded protocols over SONET/SDH in VCAT payloads.
