Line Thresholds

Use the Line Thresholds subtab to provision the near and far end line thresholds for the ONS 15454 DS1-14, DS1N-14, and DS1/E1-56 cards.

Near End

Select Near End to display the near-end thresholds.

Far End

Select Far End to display the far-end thresholds.

15 Min

Select to enter threshold information for a generation of 15-min threshold crossing alerts (TCAs).

1 Day

Select to enter threshold information for a generation of 1-day TCAs.

Show Thresholds

Shows selected thresholds.

Port

Allows you to choose the port number.

CV

(Near End only) Sets the threshold for the number of coding violations. Coding violations are bit interleaved parity (BIP) errors that are detected in the incoming signal. A threshold is associated with this parameter, and the table cell will be flagged in red when it exceeds the threshold.

ES

(Near End, Far End) Sets the threshold for the number of errored seconds. An errored second is a one-second period with one or more coding violations at that layer or one or more incoming defects at that layer.

SES

(Near End only) Sets the threshold for the number of severely errored seconds. A severely errored second is a one-second period with x or more coding violations at that layer and one or more incoming defects at that layer. The value of x depends on the line rate and BER.

LOSS

(Near End only) Sets the threshold for the number of one-second intervals containing one or more LOS defects.

Apply

Applies changes made to the fields in the tab.

Reset

Cancels any changes to the tab and returns the fields to their last-saved settings.
