Circuit Attributes

Use the Circuit Attributes page to define the type of overhead circuit that you want to create. The following table describes the Circuit Attributes page fields and buttons that appear for overhead circuits.

Item

Description

Name

Sets the overhead circuit name. The name can be alphanumeric and up to 48 characters, (including spaces). If you leave the Name field blank, CTC assigns a default name to the overhead circuit.

Type

Defines the overhead circuit type. See Overhead Circuit Types for descriptions.

PCM

(ONS 15310-CL, ONS 15310-MA, ONS 15327, and ONS 15454 only) For orderwire circuits, sets the pulse code modulation (PCM) voice coding and companding standard, either MU_LAW (North America, Japan) or A_LAW (Europe).

Maximum Bandwidth

(ONS 15310-CL, ONS 15310-MA, ONS 15454, and ONS 15600 only) Sets a limit on the SDCC bandwidth allocated for IP tunnels to prevent degradation of ONS DCC processes. The percentage applies to the total SDCC bandwidth available.
