Server Trails


Use the Server Trails tab to create a connection between ONS nodes through a third-party network. You can create server trails between any two optical or DS-3 ports. VT server trails can be created between DS-1 cards.

Item

Description

ID

Displays the server trail ID. The server trail ID includes the node name and an ID number.

Source

Displays the source in the format: node/slot/port/STS/VT.

Destination

Displays the destination in the format: node/slot/port/STS/VT.

Size

Displays the server trail size. For VTs, the sizes are VT1.5 or VT2; for STSs, the sizes are STS1, STS-3c, or STS-12c.

# of Trails

Displays the number of trails in the server trail block.

Protection

Displays the protection type: Preemptible, Unprotected, or Fully Protected. The protection type of the server trail does not set the protection type of the circuit.

SRLG

Displays the Shared Resource Link Group (SRLG) value. SRLG is used by Cisco Transport Manager (CTM) to specify link diversity. For example, if you create multiple server trails from a port, you can assign the SRLG a specific value to all these links to indicate that they all originate from the same port.

Create

Displays the Server Trail Attributes page of the Server Trail Creation wizard.

Delete

Deletes the highlighted server trail or server trails. Multiple server trails can be deleted at the same time.
