Description

Trap Destination
Displays the IP addresses of SNMP trap destinations.
Create
Displays the Create SNMP Trap Destination dialog box to create a new SNMP trap.
Delete
Deletes the SNMP trap chosen under Trap Destinations.
Selected Destination
Displays routing information and SNMP parameters for the SNMP trap destination chosen under Trap Destinations:
IP Address: Displays the IP address of the computer where the network
management system software resides. If the SNMP trap is routed to proxy ONS
nodes, the IP addresses of proxy nodes appear as Relay A, Relay B, and
Relay C.
Community: Displays the SNMP community name. The community name
provides authentication and access control.
UDP Port: Displays the TCP/IP User Datagram Protocol (UDP) port used for
the SNMP trap and indicates the SNMP version used for the trap, either
SNMPv1 or SNMPv2.
Allow SNMP Sets
(ONS 15310-CL, ONS 15327, and ONS 15454 only) If checked, allows remote monitoring (RMON) MIB objects and MIB-2.system groups to be provisioned on the NMS.
Allow SNMP Proxy
(ONS 15310-CL, ONS 15327, and ONS 15454 only) If checked, allows the ONS node to serve as an SNMP relay node. If the SNMP trap destination is not directly reachable from the source node, one or more intermediate ONS nodes can relay the SNMP traps to the trap destination. The source node sends SNMP traps to Relay A, Relay A sends them to Relay B, and Relay B sends the traps to Relay C, which sends them to the trap destination. All SNMP relay nodes must have Allow SNMP Proxy enabled, and the community fields for relay nodes must match with at least one of the community names provisioned in the relay nodes.
Use Generic Mib
(ONS 15454 only) All enterprise-specific SNMP traps are defined twice in the MIBs, once in CERENT-454-MIB and then again in CERENT-GENERIC-MIB. The ONS 15454 SDH uses SNMP trap definitions from CERENT-454-MIB and does not use the CERENT-GENERIC-MIB. Other ONS nodes use SNMP trap definitions from CERENT-GENERIC-MIB and do not use the CERENT-454-MIB.
When you check the "Use Generic MIB" box on an ONS 15454 SDH, the node will start using SNMP trap definitions from CERENT-GENERIC-MIB instead of the SNMP trap definitions specified by the CERENT-454-MIB to prepare and send SNMP traps.
Apply
Applies changes made to the SNMP fields.
Reset
Cancels SNMP subtab changes and returns the fields to their last-saved settings.
Help
Displays context-sensitive help.
