DS1 > Elect Path Thresholds

Use the Elect Path Thresholds subtab to view and provision electrical path thresholds.

Near End

Select Near End to display the near-end thresholds.

Far End

Select Far End to display the far-end thresholds.

15 Min

Select to enter threshold information for generation of 15-minute TCAs.

1 Day

Select to enter threshold information for generation of 1-day TCAs.

Show Thresholds

Shows thresholds for the selected parameters.

Port

Displays the port number.

CV

(Near End and Far End) Sets the threshold for the number of coding violations. Coding violations are BIP errors that are detected in the incoming signal. A threshold is associated with this parameter, and the table cell is flagged in red when it exceeds the threshold. You can set thresholds using the CTC.

ES

(Near End and Far End) Sets the threshold for the number of errored seconds. An errored second is a one-second period with one or more coding violations at that layer or one or more incoming defects at that layer.

SES

(Near End and Far End) Sets the threshold for the number of severely errored seconds. A severely errored second is a one-second period with x or more coding violations at that layer and one or more incoming defects at that layer. The value of x depends on the line rate and bit error rate.

SASP

(Near End only) Sets the threshold for the severely errored frame/alarm indication signal thresholds for the path.

FC

(Far End only) Sets the threshold for the failure count.

AISSP

(Near End only) Sets the threshold for the alarm indication signal seconds for the path.

UAS

(Near End and Far End) Sets the threshold for the unavailable seconds.

CSS

(Far End only) Sets the threshold for the count of seconds during which a controlled slip has occurred. Counts of controlled slips can be accurately made only in the path terminating NE of the DS-1 signal where the controlled slip takes place.

ESA

(Far End only) Sets the threshold for Errored Seconds-A, which is a count of 1-second intervals with exactly one CRC-6 error and no AIS or severely errored frame (SEF).

ESB

(Far End only) Sets the threshold for Errored Seconds-B, which is a count of 1-second intervals with exactly one CRC-6 error and no AIS or SEF.

SEFS

(Far End only) Sets the threshold for the severely errored framing seconds, which is a count of 1-second performance report message (PRM) intervals containing an SE=1.

Apply

Applies changes made to the fields in the tab.

Reset

Cancels any changes to the tab and returns the fields to their last-saved settings.

Displays context-sensitive help.
