Use the Line subtab to provision the line parameters.

Port

The card port number.

Port Name

Enter the name of the electrical port.

Admin State

Sets port administration state. Choosing an administrative state from the drop-down list and clicking Apply changes the port's service state unless network conditions prevent the change. Admin states include:

  • IS-Puts the port in service. The port service state changes to IS-NR.

  • IS,AINS-Puts the port in automatic in-service. The port service state changes to OOS-AU,AINS.

  • OOS,DSBLD-Removes the port from service and disables it. The port service state changes to OOS-MA,DSBLD.

  • OOS,MT-Removes the port from service for maintenance. The port service state changes to OOS-MA,MT. For loopbacks, the OOS,MT admin state must be initiated.

Service State

Shows the autonomously generated state that gives the overall condition of the port. Service states appear in the format: Primary State-Primary State Qualifier, Secondary State. For additional state information, see States.

SF BER

Sets the signal failure bit error rate.

SD BER

Sets the signal degrade bit error rate.

Line Type

Defines the line framing type.

Line Coding

Defines the transmission coding type.

Line Length

Defines the distance (in feet) from the backplane connection to the next termination point.

AINS Soak

Sets the automatic in-service soak timer, which is the amount of time left before the traffic/termination transitions to the IS-NR state.

Send AIS-V for DS1 AIS

When checked, sends an alarm indication signal.

Treat LOF as Defect

When checked, raises an alarm indication signal for loss of frame.

Apply

Applies changes made to the fields in the tab.

Reset

Cancels any changes to the tab and returns the fields to their last-saved settings.
