EC1 > Line

Use the Line subtab to provision the EC-1 line parameters.

Port

Displays the card port number.

Port Name

Sets the port name.

Port Rate

Displays the fiber channel interface.

Admin State

Sets the port administration state. Choosing an administrative state from the drop-down list and clicking Apply changes the port's service state unless network conditions prevent the change. Admin states include:

  • IS-Puts the port in-service. The port service state changes to IS-NR.

  • OOS,DSBLD-Removes the port from service and disables it. The port service state changes to OOS-MA,DSBLD.

  • OOS,MT-Removes the port from service for maintenance. The port service state changes to OOS-MA,MT. For loopbacks, the OOS,MT admin state must be initiated.

  • IS,AINS-Puts the port in automatic in-service. The port service state changes to OOS-AU,AINS.

Service State

Shows an autonomously generated state that gives the overall condition of the port. Service states appear in the format: Primary State-Primary State Qualifier, Secondary State. For additional state information, see States.

SF BER

Sets the SF BER.

SD BER

Sets the SD BER.

PJSTSMon#

Sets the STS that will be used for pointer justification. If set to zero, no STS is used.

Line Length

Defines the distance (in feet) from the backplane connection to the next termination point.

Rx Equalization

For early EC1-12 card versions, allows you to turn off equalization if the line length is short or the environment is extremely cold; Rx Equalization should normally be set to On.

AINS Soak

Sets the automatic in-service soak timer, which is the amount of time left before the traffic/termination transitions to the IS-NR state.

Reach

(Does not apply to all cards) Allows you to provision the reach value. You can also choose Auto Provision, which allows the system to automatically provision the reach from the hardware. The reach distances follow:

  • SR (short reach, up to 2-km distance)

  • SR-1 (up to 2-km distance)

  • IR-1 (intermediate reach, up to 15-km distance)

  • IR-2 (up to 40-km distance)

  • LR-1 (long reach, up to 40-km distance)

  • LR-2 (up to 80-km distance)

  • LR-3 (up to 80-km distance)

Wavelength

(Does not apply to all cards) Allows you to provision the wavelength frequency.

Apply

Applies changes made to the fields in the tab.

Reset

Cancels any changes to the tab and returns the fields to their last-saved settings.
