About Port Numbers for FCIP and PortChannel

FCIP and PortChannels cannot be used in a FICON-enabled VSAN unless they are explicitly bound to a port number.

You can use the default port numbers if they are available (see Table 25-1) or if you reserve port numbers from the pool of port numbers that are not reserved for Fibre Channel interfaces (see the "FICON Port Numbering" topic and the "About the Reserved FICON Port Numbering Scheme" topic).
