Select Tier Redundancy and Datapage Size

Select the redundancy level you would like to use for each storage tier, and the datapage size you would like to use, then select Prepare Now to prepare this disk folder for the selected type of storage.

What You Need to Know

Single Redundant storage uses a mix of RAID 10 and RAID 5 storage depending upon volume configuration. Single Redundant storage allows for the loss of one disk without the risk of data loss.

Dual Redundant storage uses a mix of RAID 10-DM and RAID 6 storage depending upon volume configuration. Dual Redundant storage allows for the loss of two disks without the risk of data loss.

It is recommended that you only prepare a disk folder for a single datapage size to optimize disk utilization and I/O performance. Only prepare for additional types of storage to address specific application needs.

If your tiers contain enough 2.5 TB or larger disks for RAID 6, they will default to dual-redundant storage and you will be unable to change that setting.
