Prepare Disk Folder for Storage

Before you create volumes using this disk folder, it must be prepared to be used for storage.

Select Prepare Now to prepare the disk folder for standard redundant storage.

Select Advanced to prepare the disk folder for different storage types.

What You Need to Know

Depending upon the user preferences you have selected, you may not be allowed to prepare for some storage types. To change your user preferences, select the root of the System Explorer tree and select Configure My Volume Defaults.

It is recommended that you only prepare a disk folder for standard redundant storage to optimize disk utilization and I/O performance. Only prepare for other types of storage to address specific application needs.

If your tiers contain enough 2.5 TB or larger disks for RAID 6, they will default to dual-redundant storage and you will be unable to change that setting.
