Replicate to Simulation
Creating a simulated replication allows you to simulate replication link utilization before creating a true replication. Use the Progress Reports on the Enterprise Manager Replication Viewer QoS Definitions tab to track simulated link utilization over time.
- Select either Synchronous or Asynchronous mode. For more information, refer to: Options
- Select a Quality of Service (QoS) definition, or create a new definition.
- Replicate Active Replay for Asynchronous Replication replicates data not captured in a replay. This causes additional link overhead when the same data is written several times before being captured in a replay.
- Skip Initial Synchronization for Asynchronous Replication allows you to simulate replication for only current writes to a volume, and not include the cost to initially move the data to the replication destination.
- Deduplication for Asychronous Replications determines the changed data within a Replay and replicates only that changed data over the link. This option can be computationally intensive when used on systems having large numbers of replications with many replays.
