Use this screen to select disks designated as hot spares. Click Continue to go to the next screen.
Hot spares are used only in the event of a disk failure to improve system resiliency. If a disk fails, the failed disk data is automatically rebuilt on the hot spare using the redundant volume data.
Hot spares do not count toward usable storage.
Hot spares can have a different capacity than other disks.
The system initially selects a default number of hot spares. You may change the defaults or change the selected hot spares.
It is strongly recommend that you retain at least one hot spare. In case of disk failure without an available hot spare, the system will continue to operate without rebuilding the failed disk.
