This screen displays the mappings to link the selected servers and volumes. To deselect a map, click on the checkbox. Enter the Logical Unit Number (LUN) of the volume. This is the number the server uses to access the volume. If another Compellent System or other devices are plugged into the Fibre Channel Network, you may need to manually enter the LUN.
Click Create Now to generate the map(s). To change mappings, click Back to scroll through the Mapping screens.
Each device plugged into the Fibre Channel Network needs to have a unique LUN. For each server, LUNs start at 0, and need to be sequential.
In most cases, volumes are mapped to ports in the same fault domain. For multi-pathing, all primary ports are on the same controller and volumes can be mapped to ports in more than one fault domain. To view multiple front end ports over multiple switches (or one zoned switch), from the Storage Management menu, choose System > Properties. Click the Mapping Tab. Check Allow volumes to be mapped to multiple fault domains. Click OK. The multiple fault domains now appear in the Mapping Wizard.
