SupportAssist

The SupportAssist wizard can be used to send SupportAssist data, and to view whether sending of SupportAssist data is in progress.

To send SupportAssist data, select Send SupportAssist Data Now. If you select Send SupportAssist Data Now while you are already sending SupportAssist data, you will be warned and given the opportunity to resend the SupportAssist data. Once the SupportAssist data has been sent, you can send SupportAssist data again by selecting Send SupportAssist Data Now.

The SupportAssist wizard displays the status of each of the various items that are being phoned home.

Items that are being sent to SupportAssist will have a State of In Progress. Once completed, this State will change to Success if the data has been sent successfully, or Failure if the data could not be sent.

Depending upon the status of the system, some items may not be sent at all. These items will have a State of Never Run.

To view whether SupportAssist data is currently being sent, check the State column. If any items have a State of In Progress, this means data is currently in the process of being sent.

When the Include Detailed Logs option is checked, extra debug logs are transferred to SupportAssist. This option should only be checked when requested by Dell Technical Support Services.
