Select Local User Groups

The scope and control of a Volume Manager or Reporter can be limited through the use of User Groups. User Groups can be used to restrict Volume Manager access and visibility of the Servers and Disk folders on the system and also to pre-select responses (e.g. RAID type).

User Groups can give a Volume Manager or Reporter the impression that they are the only users of the Compellent System, i.e. they can only see the servers and/or disk folders made available to them. Access control is accomplished by placing access rights on the folders containing servers, volumes, and disks.
