Update Options

This screen allows you to select how you would like to install the update package. The options displayed differ depending upon the component updates available in the package.

Possible update options include:

• Apply the required portion of the update package - This will install only Required component updates. The Deferrable components should be installed at a later date.
• Apply updates that will not disrupt service - This will install all Required and Deferrable component updates that are not service affecting.
• Apply updates that will disrupt service - This will install all Required and Deferrable component updates that require a service outage. Any Deferrable component updates that can optionally be installed in service will not be installed and should be installed at a later date.
• Apply all updates - This will install all Required and Deferrable component updates. If the update includes Deferrable components that could be installed in service, this option instead performs a service affecting install of these components.

If the selected update option is service affecting, this will be indicated at the bottom of the screen.

What You Need to Know

Depending on the update scenario, the completion time for Deferrable components that can be updated without disrupting service may be significantly reduced when the components are installed with a service outage.
