Consistent Replay Profiles allow you to maintain a consistent set of replay data across multiple volumes.


In order to ensure consistency, volume IO is halted for all volumes using the Replay Profile while replays are created for each volume. Once replays have been created for each volume, IO is resumed.

This process is not application aware and the halting of IO will not wait for application transactions to complete. Compellent Replay Manager Services is recommended to create synchronized replays for transactional applications.

IO timeouts may occur depending upon the number of volumes using the Replay Profile. In order to avoid IO timeouts, only use Consistent Replay Profiles for small sets of volumes.
