3.1.6. gc_Extension( )

The gc_Extension( ) function can be used for two purposes:

• To send protocol messages
• To retrieve call-related information

Table 1 shows the valid extension IDs and their purpose.

Notes:

1. When using the IPEXTID_SENDMSG extension ID, the gc_Extension( ) function must be called in synchronous mode, that is, the mode parameter must be EV_SYNC.
2. When using the IPEXTID_GETINFO extension ID, the gc_Extension( ) function must be called in asynchronous mode, that is, the mode parameter must be EV_ASYNC.

Extension ID	Description
IPEXTID_SENDMSG	Used to send the following types of messages: UII Messages (H.245) Command Messages (H.245) Facility Messages (Q.931) The parameter sets IDs supported are: IPSET_MSG_H245 IPSET_MSG_Q931 See Section 4.4, "Sending Protocol Messages" for more information.
IPEXTID_GETINFO	Used to retrieve call-related information. See Section 4.3, "Retrieving Current Call-Related Information" for more information.
