Search Help

General:

This full-text search engine has been tested to run on java enabled browsers such as Netscape 3.X and greater and Internet Explorer 3.X and greater.

To search for documents in the bookshelf containing one or more particular words, type those particular words into the "Enter search query" box and press the "Search" button.

To view a document identified by the search, you may:

  • double-click the document title
  • highlight the document and press the "View" button

Book Selection:

Select the topmost entry in the list of books to perform a search on the entire bookshelf.
Select a particular book to limit a search to that book.

Boolean Logic:

Simple boolean searches are supported. Please refer to the following examples for guidance:

Boolean operator illustrated Entering this query... ...will yield
OR (<space>) interface telephone documents containing either interface or telephone
AND interface and telephone documents containing both interface and telephone
AND (+) interface + telephone documents containing both interface and telephone
NOT interface not telephone documents containing interface but not containing telephone
NOT (-) interface - telephone documents containing interface but not containing telephone
* Wild card searches are supported through use of the wild card character: the asterisk symbol. By default, the wild card is automatically appended to your search string.

Additional Tips:

Some words were not included in the book indexes. Any such words found in a search query will be removed.
