In this situation INEX has identified that a VV which is presented to a host via more than a single LUN ID.

INEX flags this situation so to bring attention to this as a possible configuration problem involving hosts that are not in a clustered configuration and thus creates the potential for data inconsistencies through uncoordinated accesses to the VV.

There are many configurations where this is not an issue, but the array owner should be asked to review their hosts, the hosts OS and the array configuration to make sure this is truly what they intended. The array owner should also verify whether or not the host OS supports multiple LUN IDs to the same volume or maybe the host OS uses UDIDs instead, a GOOGLE search should yield the necessary information.
