With the advent of de-duplication in HP 3PAR OS v3.2.1.MU2 several issues have been discovered and corrected.

However, issues are still being encountered relating to space reclamation and sysmgr behavior. These newly

discovered issues have also been addressed in the latest releases of HP 3PAR OS, namely v3.2.1.EMU3.

The issues that customers have experienced related to de-duplication have been of a critical nature that in some cases the customer’s production environment has been brought down!

Because of these latest corrections, HP 3PAR Engineering has mandated that v3.2.1.EMU3 of HP 3PAR OS will now be the default/minimum version to be employed to support de-duplication on an HP 3PAR Storage Array. It is also suggested that P18 for 3.2.1.EMU3 be installed.
