Please be aware that the HP 3PAR OS has no restrictions with regards to TDVVs and non-TDVVs configured in the same CPG.

We are flagging this as an informational message only to bring awareness of this deduplication configuration.

Historically, some issues have arisen where the behavior of deduplication has interfered with the non-TDVVs in the CPG and visa-versa. The biggest issue experienced has been related to free space and the cleanup and reclamation of that free space.

If you are seeing this message in INEX the array being analyzed is below the recommended/mandated version of HP 3PAR OS for supporting deduplication. (v3.2.1.EMU3, with P18)

No action is necessary unless the customer is experiencing space issues involving the VVs within the CPG. If there are space issues occurring which involve the VVs in the CPG please consider more in depth analysis of the situation and/or elevating the case to seek advice on what steps to take next.
