Complementary functions

The following functions supplement the provisioning features of the storage system:

  • External storage: Universal Volume Manager enables you to map volumes in external storage systems to volumes within the storage system.
  • Performance: The following performance features enable you to monitor, control, and optimize the performance of the storage system: Performance Monitor, Server Priority Manager (see the Virtual Storage Platform G200, G400, G600, G800 Performance Guide)
  • Partitioning: Virtual Partition Manager enables you to create cache logical partitions (CLPRs) to control host utilization of cache (see the Virtual Storage Platform G200, G400, G600, G800 Performance Guide).
  • Encryption: Encryption License Key enables you to encrypt the data on the drives in the storage system.
