VSP Gx00 models, VSP Fx00 models audit logs

Audit log files can be used to monitor the security of Virtual Storage Platform G100, G200, G400, G600, G800 (VSP Gx00 models) storage system and Virtual Storage Platform F400, F600, F800 (VSP Fx00 models) storage system. Because the audit log file records when and who has done what operation, it can be used for investigation when illegal settings are applied or failures occur on the storage system.

    The storage systems support the use of external audit logging of security events and ensure reliable delivery and security of audit logging information. External audit logging is completed on an event-driven basis with time and date stamping. Additionally, for organizations that have a centralized time service, the audit logging capability can leverage that service via NTP (Network Time Protocol). The audit logs are maintained on the service processor (SVP) of the storage system.
