Using SNMP

This chapter describes how to use Hitachi Device Manager - Storage Navigator to manage alert settings, SNMP trap notification, and SNMP request authentication, and how to test SNMP trap reports.

  Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is an industry-standard protocol for managing and monitoring network devices, including storage devices, routers, and hubs. Hitachi SNMP Agent reports information via SNMP to the SNMP manager on the host server and supports SNMP versions v1, v2c, and v3.
