Introduction

This chapter provides an overview of the SNMP implementation for monitoring Virtual Storage Platform G200, G400, G600, G800 and Virtual Storage Platform F400, F600, F800 storage systems, including the agent and management functions.

  Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is an industry-standard protocol for managing and monitoring network devices, including storage devices, routers, and hubs. SNMP Agent reports information via SNMP to the SNMP manager on the host server and supports SNMP versions v1, v2c, and v3.
