Removing remote connections

Remote connections from local storage systems to remote storage systems can be removed. When a remote connection is removed, all remote paths to the selected remote storage system are removed from the current local storage system. When a remote connection is removed, operations of GAD between other local storage systems and their remote storage systems are not affected.

Even after removing a remote connection, you can reconfigure a remote connection and add a different remote storage system to the local storage system. For VSP G1000, VSP G1500, and VSP F1500, you can also remove a remote connection, change the Initiator port back to RCU Target port, and then add a server channel of a local storage system.

Before you begin

  • Storage Administrator (Remote Copy) role is required.
  • All GAD pairs between the local storage system and the remote storage system are removed.

Procedure

  1. In the Storage Systems tree, select Replication, and then Remote Connections.

  2. In the Connection (To) tab, select the remote connections which you want to remove. (You can select multiple remote connections.)

  3. Click More Actions > Remove Remote Connections.

  4. In the Remove Remote Connections window, Selected Remote Connections table, confirm the remote connections to be removed.

You can check the detail of the remote connection in the View Remote Connection Properties window that is displayed by selecting a remote connection and then clicking Detail.

  5. Enter the task name in Task Name.

  6. Click Apply.

The task is registered. The Tasks window displays if the Go to tasks window for status check box is selected.
