Defining the attribute for a Fibre Channel port or an iSCSI port
To transfer GAD data, you must define the Initiator ports on the storage systems at the primary site and the RCU Target ports on the storage systems at the secondary sites.
Before you begin
- Storage Administrator (System Resource Management) role is required.
- Before changing a Target port to Initiator port, prepare the following:
- Check that the port is offline from the server.
- Disconnect the port from the server.
- Delete the path to the port.
- Before changing a Fibre Channel port or iSCSI port from Initiator to Target or to RCU Target, prepare the following:
- Delete all paths from the Initiator port to the remote storage system.
- Disconnect the connection from the local storage system to the remote storage system.
Procedure
In the Storage Systems tree, select Ports / Host Groups.
Select the Ports tab.
Select the port whose attribute you want to change.
Click Edit Ports
Select the Port Attribute check box on, and select the port attribute (Initiator or RCU Target).

Click Finish.
In the Confirm window, check the settings you made, and then enter the task name in Task Name.
Click Apply.
The task is registered. The Tasks window appears if the Go to tasks window for status check box is selected.
