Reporting failure information about storage systems
You can report failure information (SIM) about storage systems through Syslog, SNMP trap, and email. Failure information reported through email is the same as SIM displayed on the Alert window or reported through SNMP trap. For SNMP trap, the user needs to access the SNMP Manager to check for failure. However, for report through Syslog or email, the user has only to check Syslog or email to know about the occurrence of failure. See the SNMP Agent User Guide for methods of notification with SNMP traps.
If a NAS module is installed on your storage system, specify settings for reporting failure information in NAS Manager first. Then confirm the settings for the block storage in Maintenance Utility. For details about NAS Manager settings, see the Hardware Reference Guide for your storage system.
