Description

Remote Storage System

Select a remote storage system.

  • Model / Serial Number: Select a model and a serial number.
  • Path Group ID: Select a path group ID.

Primary Volume Selection

Item

Description

Selection Object (VSP Gx00 models and VSP Fx00 modelsonly)

Select a port in the local storage system.

  • Fibre: Select when specifying LU for Fibre port.
  • iSCSI: Select when specifying LU for iSCSI port.
  • NAS Platform (User LU): Select when specifying LU for NAS port. Displays when NAS modules are installed. This option does not display for VSP G200.

Ports without LUs cannot be selected. If a Fibre, iSCSI, or NAS port (User LU) has an LU, then a port is selected automatically.

LU Selection

Select an LU in the local storage system.

  • Port ID: Select a port number.
  • Host Group Name: Select a host group name. If you choose Any, the Available LDEVs table displays all LUNs in the specified port. Host Group Name is displayed when you select a Fibre port in Port ID.
  • iSCSI Target Alias: Select an iSCSI target alias. If you choose Any, the Available LDEVs table displays all LUNs in the specified port. iSCSI Target Alias is displayed when you select an iSCSI port in Port ID.

  • ALU: The volume has the ALU attribute .
  • SLU: The volume has the SLU attribute.
  • Data Direct Mapping: The volume has the Data Direct Mapping attribute.
  • NAS Platform (User LU): User LU for NAS.
  • - (hyphen): The attribute is not set to the volume.

Capacity

Displays the volume capacity.

CLPR

Displays the CLPR ID.

Encryption

Displays information about the encryption set to the source volume:

  • Enabled: The encryption for the parity group to which the LDEV of the source volume belongs is enabled. Otherwise, the LDEV is a DP-VOL that is allocated to the pool volume of a pool in which encryption is enabled.
  • Disabled: The encryption for the parity group to which the LDEV of the source volume belongs is disabled. Otherwise, the LDEV is a DP-VOL that is allocated to the pool volume of a pool in which encryption is disabled.
  • Mixed: The pool to which the LDEV belongs contains two or more of the following:
    • Volume for which encryption is enabled
    • Volume for which encryption is disabled
    • External volume

Note: Encryption of data is not ensured in an LDEV with the Mixed encryption status. To manage data encryption, use an LDEV for which Encryption is Enabled or Disabled.

  • - (hyphen): The LDEV is an external volume. For DP-VOLs, the pool to which the LDEV belongs is an external volume or is blocked.

ALUA Mode

Displays the ALUA mode information.

Capacity Saving

Displays the information of the capacity saving function.

  • Compression: The compression function is used.
  • Deduplication and Compression: The deduplication function and compression function are used.
  • Disabled: The capacity saving function is not used.

T10 PI

Displays information about the T10 PI attribute of the volume.

  • Enable: The T10 PI attribute of the volume is enabled.
  • Disable: The T10 PI attribute of the volume is disabled.

Virtual Storage Machine

Displays the model and the serial number of the virtual storage machine.

Secondary Volume Selection

Item

Description

Base Secondary Volume

Displays the information about the base secondary volume.

  • Port ID: Select a port name.
  • Host Group ID/iSCSI Target ID: Select a host group ID or an iSCSI target ID.
  • LUN ID: Select a LUN ID.

Selection Type

Select a selection type. The default is Interval.

  • Interval: Select an interval for allocating the secondary volume.
  • Relative Primary Volume: Calculates the difference of the LUs between the two neighboring primary volumes, and uses the result to choose a LUN based on the result. For example, assume that LUNs of three primary volumes are 1, 5, and 6. In this case, if you specify 2 to LUN in Base Secondary Volume, the LUN of the three secondary volumes will be 2, 6, and 7 respectively.

Mirror ID

Select a mirror ID to be assigned to the pair.

Quorum Disks

Select a quorum disk ID to be assigned to the pair.

CTG ID

Select a consistency group ID from 000 to 0FF, or Not Assign. An asterisk (*) is appended to the IDs of consistency groups that are registered to the storage system or displayed in the Selected Pairs table. Of the consistency group IDs with an asterisk (*), the smallest ID number is displayed by default. If consistency group IDs with an asterisk (*) do not exist, Not Assign is displayed.

Options

Item

Description

Initial Copy Type

Select a initial copy type. The default is Entire.

  • Entire: Creates a pair, and copies data from the primary volume to the secondary volume.
  • None: Creates a pair, but data is not copied from the primary volume to the secondary volume. To select None, make sure that the primary volume and the secondary volume are identical.

Copy Pace

Specify the maximum number of tracks to be copied in a single remote I/O. The default is 15 (fast copy pace). To change the copy pace, enter a number from 1 to 4:

  • The speed of 1 is a slow copy pace, and is used to reduce impact on host I/O.
  • The speeds of 2 and 3 are a medium copy pace.
  • The speed of 4 is a fast copy pace, and the host I/O performance might be degraded.

If you enter a number from 5 to 15, the speed of 4 (fast copy pace) is used.

ALUA Mode

Select the ALUA mode.

  • Depends on Primary Volume Settings: The ALUA mode of the P-VOL is set.
  • Enabled: The LDEV can be used for ALUA.
  • Disabled: The LDEV cannot be used for ALUA.

Add

Adds the pairs that were specified in the left area to the Selected Pairs table.
