Introduction

This chapter provides an overview of the SNMP implementation for monitoring Virtual Storage Platform F350, F370, F700, F900 and Virtual Storage Platform G350, G370, G700, G900 storage systems, including the agent and management functions.

  Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is an industry-standard protocol for managing and monitoring network devices, including storage devices, routers, and hubs. SNMP Agent reports information via SNMP to the SNMP manager on the host server and supports SNMP versions v1, v2c, and v3.
