Editing the data pool warning threshold
You can prevent the pool from reaching full capacity by monitoring the pool usage rate.
Prerequisite: You are not decreasing the pool capacity.
Navigate to the Pools window.
In Hitachi Command Suite:
On the Resources tab, click Storage Systems, and then expand the storage system tree.
Expand the target storage system, right-click DP Pools, and then select System GUI.
In Storage Navigator:
In the Explorer pane, click Storage Systems, and then expand the storage system tree.
Click Pools.
In the Pools tab in the Pools window, select the check box for the pool with the warning threshold that you want to change from the list and then click More Actions > Edit Pools.
In the Edit Pools window of the Edit Pools wizard, complete the following and then click Finish:
Warning Threshold
Type the data pool warning threshold.
Range: 20 - 95%, in 1% increments.
Default: 80%
Excessive pool usage rates (rates over 50%) are rounded down to the closest integer. Therefore, excessive pool usage in SIM and SNMP might be reported when the actual pool usage rate exceeds the threshold, even though the value shown is only 50%.
In the Confirm window, complete the following.
Confirm the settings.
Enter a name for your task in Task Name.
(Optional) Select Go to tasks window for status if you want the Tasks window to open after you click Apply.
Click Apply.
The pool warning threshold is changed, and if the Go to tasks window for status check box was selected, the Tasks window appears.
