Deleting IP address and community for SNMP trap notification

This topic describes the procedure to delete a community and an IP address for trap reports.

olh-note.gif The added community for trap destination is used for accepting GET REQUEST and GETNEXT REQUEST operations. If you delete all communities used for these operations, GET REQUEST and GETNEXT REQUEST operations will not be accepted, and you will need to add communities again.

Prerequisites

You must have the Storage Administrator (Initial Configuration) role to perform this task.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the Alert Notifications window in the maintenance utility.

In Hitachi Command Suite:

  1. On the Resources tab, click Storage Systems, and then expand the Storage Systems tree.

  1. Expand the target storage system, and then select Maintenance Utility.

  1. In the Maintenance Utility window, select Administration > Alert Notifications.

In Device Manager - Storage Navigator:

  1. Display the Device Manager - Storage Navigator main window.

  1. From the Maintenance Utility menu, select Alert Notifications.

  1. In the Alert Notifications window, click Set Up.

  1. In the Set Up Alert Notifications window, select the SNMP tab.

  1. Select one or more specific community and IP address combinations, and then click Delete.

  1. If you need to add a community for trap destination again, then perform the following steps:

  1. Click Add in Trap Destination.

  1. In the Add SNMP Trap window, select New, and then enter a community name.

  1. Click OK.

  1. Confirm the settings, and then click Apply.
