Workflow for accelerating the pair deletion process

You can shorten the time that the pair is in the process of being deleted (“SMPL(PD)” status). If the pair status is SMPL(PD), you cannot recreate an HTI pair, and you also cannot assign an S-VOL to snapshot data, release assignment, or change assignment.

Complete the following workflow to accelerate the process of deleting an HTI pair:

1. Delete the snapshot data (see Resynchronizing Thin Image pairs).

The pair is resynchronized (“PAIR” status).

2. Delete the HTI pair (see Deleting Thin Image pairs).
