Formatting all LDEVs in a parity group
The Storage Administrator (Provisioning) role is required to perform this task.
Use this procedure to perform Normal formatting on the volume.
When formatting all LDEVs in a parity group, you will need to:
Specify a parity group.
Format the LDEV.
Before formatting all LDEVs in a parity group, make sure that all LDEVs under this parity group have been blocked.

Perform one of following to display the tab.
For Hitachi Command Suite:
On the Resource tab, expand the Storage Systems tree. Right click Volumes of the target storage system, then select System GUI. Displays the Parity Groups tab.
For Storage Navigator:
Expand the Storage Systems tree, and select Parity Groups. Display the Parity Groups tab.
Expand the Storage Systems tree, and select Parity Groups > Internal or External. Display the Parity Groups tab.
To format all LDEVs in the parity group, select the parity group.
Perform one of following to display the Format LDEVs window.
For Hitachi Command Suite:
On the LDEVs tab, select Format LDEVs.
For the Parity Groups window in Storage Navigator:
Select parity groups to be operated, click More Actions and select Format LDEVs.
Click Actions > Logical Device > Format LDEVs to open the window.
In the Format LDEVs window, select the format type from the Format Type list, then click Finish.
In the Confirm window, click Next to go to the next operation.
Click Apply.
If Go to tasks window for status is checked, the Tasks window opens.
