Restoring HDvM - SN configuration files
You can restore the settings on the new SVP by using the backup created in Backing up HDvM - SN configuration files when the SVP has a failure or when replacing the SVP.
Prerequisites
You must have the Storage Administrator (Initial Configuration) role to perform this task.
You must be logged into the SVP.
The storage system that needs to be restored is registered in the SVP.
The SVP is configured so that the service does not start automatically when starting the system. See the hardware guide for your storage system model for the SVP configuration method.
Procedure
Copy the backup file to any folder in the SVP.
Open a Windows command prompt.
Enter the following command:
C:\MAPP\wk\Supervisor\MappIniSet\MappRestore.bat <absolute path of Backup file name>
As shown in the above example, a space is required between the command name and the file name.
Backup file names must have the following format:
<absolute or relative path><filename>.tgz.
A completion message displays. Click any key to continue.
Close the Windows command prompt.
Configure the system so that the service starts automatically when starting SVP.
Restart the SVP.
