Workflow for deleting data encryption keys

Delete a data encryption key from a file on the HCS management serverHDvM - SN computer or from a key management server.

Use the following process to delete a data encryption key:

1. Back up the secondary data encryption key.

2. Ensure the key is not allocated to the parity group.

See the Encryption Keys window and check the key allocation.

3. Delete the data encryption key using one of the following methods:

• Delete the data encryption key from a file on the HCS management serverHDvM - SN computer.
