Defining Fibre Channel or iSCSI port attributes (VSP G1000, G1500, and VSP F1500)

Initiator and RCU target ports must be set up on the primary and secondary storage systems for Universal Replicator command and data transfer.

Before you begin

For information on target, initiator, and RCU target ports and to determine the number of initiator and RCU target ports required by your system, see the topic on planning ports in the Universal Replicator User Guide.

Procedure

  1. Open the Ports/Host Groups/iSCSI Targets window:

In Hitachi Command Suite:

  1. On the Resources tab, expand the Storage Systems tree.

  1. Expand the target storage system tree, and click Ports/Host Groups/iSCSI Targets.

In Device Manager - Storage Navigator:

  1. In the Explorer pane, expand the Storage Systems tree.

  1. Expand the target storage system tree, and click Ports/Host Groups/iSCSI Targets.

  1. In the Ports tab, click the port whose attribute you want to change then click Edit Ports

  1. In the Edit Ports window, select the Port Attribute: Initiator or RCU Target. If you need to specify other settings, see the Provisioning Guide for your storage system.

  1. Click Finish.

  1. In the Confirm window, review the settings, enter a task name, and then click Apply.
