Restoring keys from a file
Restore the data encryption keys from a file backed up on the computer.
Before you begin
You must have the Security Administrator (View & Modify) role.
Procedure
Open the Encryption Keys window.
In Command Suite:
On the Resources tab, click Storage Systems, and then expand All Storage Systems.
Expand the target storage system, and then select Encryption Keys.
In Device Manager - Storage Navigator:
Display the Device Manager - Storage Navigator main window.
Select Administration in Explorer, and select Encryption Keys.
On the Encryption Keys tab, click Restore Keys > From File.
In the Restore Keys from File window, click Browse and then click OK.
In the Open dialog box, select the backup file and click Open.
In the Restore Keys from File window, complete the following item and then click Finish:
For File Name, shows the name of the selected file.
View-only: Yes
For Password, type the password for the data encryption key that you typed when you backed up the selected data encryption key.
In the Confirm window, confirm the settings, and enter your task name in Task Name.
If you want the Task window to open after you click Apply, select Go to tasks window for status.
Click Apply.
The backup data encryption key is restored.
