Changing the maximum initial copy activities setting
You can change the number of volumes that can be copied concurrently using the Edit Remote Replica Options window.
Prerequisite information
Storage Administrator (Remote Copy) role is required.
Procedure
In the Storage Systems tree, select Replication.
Display the Edit Remote Replica Options window in one of the following methods:
From Edit Options, select Remote Replication.
From the Actions menu, select , and then Edit Remote Replica Options.
In Copy Type, select GAD .
In Maximum Initial Copy Activities, enter the number of volumes that can be copied at once in a single initial copy operation.
The number of initial copy operation of GAD might affect the performance of the local storage system depending on the amount of I/O processing and the number of pairs that are registered at the same time.
If this value is too large, the pending process in the remote storage system increases and might effect the response time of the remote I/O to update I/O.
Click Finish.
In the Confirm window, check the settings you made, and then enter the task name in Task Name.
Click Apply.
The task is registered, and the Tasks window appears if the Go to tasks window for status check box is selected.
