Changing the ALUA mode setting of an LDEV

If an LDEV is used in ALUA, you need to enable ALUA mode in the LDEV.

Prerequisites

The Storage Administrator (Provisioning) role is required to perform this task.

  1. Open the Logical Devices window.

In Command Suite:

  1. On the Resources tab, click Storage Systems, and then expand All Storage Systems.

  1. Expand the target storage system, right-click Volumes, and then select System GUI.

In Device Manager - Storage Navigator:

  1. Click Storage Systems and expand the Storage Systems tree.

  1. Select Logical Devices.

  1. Select the volume for which you want to change the ALUA mode setting.

  1. Click Edit LDEVs.

  1. In the Edit LDEVs window, select ALUA Mode, and then click Enable or Disable.

If you choose Enable, the LDEV can be used in ALUA.

  1. Click Finish.

  1. In the Confirm window, confirm the settings, in Task Name type a unique name for this task or accept the default, and then click Apply.

If Go to tasks window for status is checked, the Tasks window opens.
