Edit Command Devices wizard
The System Administrator can enter CCI commands from open-system hosts to perform such as TrueCopy or ShadowImage operations or both on logical devices. For example, CCI commands can be used to create and split pairs. To allow the System Administrator to enter CCI commands from open-system hosts, you must specify at least one logical device as the command device. If desired, you must also apply command device security to other logical devices in the storage system.
Use Edit Command Devices window to edit command devices.
To open the Edit Command Devices window:
Perform one of the following to display the tab.
Expand the Storage Systems tree and select Logical Devices. Display the LDEVs tab.
Expand the Storage Systems tree and select Pools. Display the Virtual Volumes tab.
Expand the Storage Systems tree and Ports/Host Groups/iSCSI Targets. Select the host group to be operated and Select the LUNs tab.
Expand the Storage Systems tree and Ports/Host Groups/iSCSI Targets. Select the iSCSI target to be operated and Select the LUNs tab.
Select the check box of the LDEV ID to be operated.
Display the Edit Command Devices window by performing of the one of following:
Click More Actions, then select Edit Command Devices.
Click Actions, Logical Device, then Edit Command Devices.
Select Enable or Disable in the Command Device.
Select Enable or Disable in the Command Device Security.
Select Enable or Disable in the User Authentication.
Select Enable or Disable in the Device Group Definition.
Click Finish.
In the Confirm window, confirm the settings. Then, in Task Name, type a unique name for this task or accept the default, and then click Apply.
If Go to tasks window for status is checked, the Tasks window opens.
The following volumes cannot be specified as a command device:
Volume whose access attribute is other than read/write
TrueCopy pair volume.
Global-active device pair volume.
ShadowImage pair volume.
Universal Replicator pair volume.
Virtual volume (V-VOL) for Thin Image.
Volume reserved by Data Retention Utility.
Journal volume.
Pool volume that includes a DP-VOL with the direct mapping attribute enabled.
Remote command device.
LDEV of the ALU attribute.
Quorum disk for global-active device.
LDEV with ALUA mode enabled.
LDEV with the T10 PI attribute enabled.
