Deleting LU paths
The Storage Administrator (Provisioning) role is required to perform this task.
Do not delete LU paths when host I/O is in progress.
Perform one of the following to display the tab.
For Hitachi Command Suite:
On the Resource tab, expand the Storage Systems tree. On the target storage system, click Port / Host Group. On the Ports / Host Groups / iSCSI Targets window, select each port and each host group. Display the LUN tab.
On the Resource tab, expand the Storage Systems tree. On the target storage system, click Port / Host Group. On the Ports / Host Groups / iSCSI Targets window, select each port and each iSCSI target. Display the LUN tab.
For Storage Navigator:
In the Storage Systems tree on the left pane of the main window, select the LDEVs using either of the following methods.
Select Logical Devices, then select the LDEVs tab.
Select Pools, select a pool, then select the Virtual Volumes tab.
Or, select logical units using the following method.
Expand the Ports / Host Groups / iSCSI Targets, select a port and a host group. Select the LUNs tab.
Expand the Ports / Host Groups / iSCSI Targets, select a port and a iSCSI target. Select the LUNs tab.
When an LDEV is selected and Delete LUN Paths is performed, all LUN paths of the selected LDEV are deleted by default.
Select the LDEVs
Click More Actions and select Delete LUN Paths.
In the Delete LUN Paths window, confirm that the LU paths that you want to delete are listed in Selected LUN Paths.
If LU paths that you do not want to delete are listed, select the LU path you do not want to delete, then click Remove from Delete process.
If necessary, check the Delete all defined LUN paths to above LDEVs check box. When checked, all additional LU paths on the selected LDEVs is deleted.
Click Finish to open the Confirm window.
To start shredding operations to delete the data of the volume, click Next. For detailed information about shredding operations, see the Volume Shredder User Guide .
In the Confirm window, confirm the settings, in Task Name type a unique name for this task or accept the default, then click Apply.
If Go to tasks window for status is checked, the Tasks window opens.
If you delete many paths at one time, the deletion process can take time and the dialog box can seem to hang temporarily.
